Snag on Indo-US nuke agreement cleared
Washington, Dec 8: A bill, seeking to give effect to the US-IndiaCivilian Nuclear agreement, has been cleared and efforts are being madeto find time in the House of Representatives for its passage, accordingto Congressional sources.
The hold, ''agreed draft'', was put last night followinginsistence by Republican law-maker John Boehner to include in the billan unrelated legislation.
Sources said the procedural snag has been cleared and the bill is now ready for the consideration of the House.
The issue came up at a meeting of the House-Senate conferees,primarily convened to resolve differences in the versions of the billpassed earlier by the two houses of the Congress.
Efforts are on to accommodate the provision in the agenda of the House and the Senate before they adjourn for the weekend.
