SAD-BJP Combine lashed out at Congress at Badal's rally
Ajitwal, Moga, Dec 8 (UNI) A galaxy of SAD-BJP combine leaders today lashed out at Congress-led Punjab and Central Governments for promoting ''vote-bank politics'' and being insensitive towards the peoples' problems.
Felicitating SAD supremo Parkash Singh Badal, at a massive rally to launch the BJP-SAD poll campaign on the occasion of his 80th birthday, the leaders also charged the Congress Party with trying to save Parliament attack master-mind Afzal Guru and of being apathetic to Sikh sentiments by failing to even lodge a protest with French government over the turban issue.
Former Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral, BJP chief Rajnath Singh and party stalwarts L K Advani, Arun Kumar Jaitly, Punjab BJP Chief Avinash Rai Khanna, former BJP MP, Navjot Sidhu along with SAD leaders like Sukhbir Singh Badal MP and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, former union minister participated at the rally organised by SAD-BJP and Akali Dal youth wing.
Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, MP and Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, MP, Patron and national president respectively of Akali Dal Youth Wingh presented a purse of Rs 2.51 crore as party fund to the Badal senior.
Inder Kumar Gujral, Rajnath Singh, L K Advani, Arun Jaitly while addressing the rally congratulated Parkash Singh Badal and wished him long life so that he could serve not only the state but the country.
All the speakers including Mr Gujral hailed the senior Badal as symbol of the Hindu-Sikh Unity and who fought for the unity and integrity of the country and recalled he had spent about 16 years in jail since the partition.
Jagdev Singh Talwani Patron SAD and Om Prakash Chautala former Haryana Chief Minister were among others who addressed the rally.
