Rs 2.07 crore paid to militancy victims in Kupwara

Srinagar, Dec 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has paid anamount of Rs 2.07 crore under the Rehabilitation of Militancy Victimsprogramme in the frontier district of Kupwara, once the hub ofinsurgency.

An official spokesman said as many as 1632 militancy affected families were paid the amount in the district.

Meanwhile, over Rs 2.80 crore has been spent under the IntegratedSocial Security Scheme (ISSS) against an allocation of Rs 3.65 crorecovering 21617 beneficiaries of the district during the currentfinancial year so far.

He said under the National Old Age Pension scheme, about 4087beneficiaries were identified and Rs 46 lakh distributed upto Novemberwhile under National Family Benefit Scheme, (NFBS) Rs 20 lakh have beenexpended during the same period.
