Rajnath Singh condemns Congress government

Ajitwal, Moga, Dec 8 (UNI) Bharatiya Janta Party(BJP) President Rajnath Singh today condemned the Manmohan Singh led Government at the Centre for its ''failure'' to intervene in the matter of French Government's ban on wearing to turban by Sikh students in that country.

Speaking at SAD-BJP rally here, Mr Singh also condemned the present Congress-led government at the Centre for not taking care of the religious feelings of people.

He said France had imposed a ban on wearing of turban by Sikhs in that country but our government remained mute spectator. He said that Punjabis were meted out atrocities in Afghanistan but the governement did not intervene for their rescue.

Similarly, temples were destroyed in Kazakhistan but our government again remained a silent spectator.

The BJP chief again expressed his anguish over the attitude of the ruling party's leaders for their soft attitude in the matter of execution of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, who had been awarded capital punishment by the court.

Mr Singh said these are the same people who had showed haste for the hanging of Indira Gandhi assassins Kehar Singh and Satwant Singh and now they are going soft on Afzal Guru, who has been sentenced to death in the Parliament attack case.

Mr Singh also condemned the UPA Government for its alleged failure in keeping intact interests of farmer community.

He said During the previous NDA Government's regime a sizable food grain reserve was in our godowns but now the godowns are empty and the government was imporing wheat to make the situation the worst for farmers.

He said that the government paid high price for imported wheat but purchased the crop of our farmers at very low price.
