Punjab to face Karnataka after routing Maharashtra
Patiala, Dec 8 (UNI) A sparkling 173 by Arjun Kumar and a hurricane innings of 113 by Mandeep Singh enabled Punjab to post a mammoth score of 514 for four declared against Maharashtra on the final day of the quarter-final match of the Polly Umrigar Trophy (Under-15) here today.
For Maharashtra, Rajdeep Munde and Madhusudan bagged one wicket each, giving away 53 and 113 runs respectively.
In their second essay, Maharashtra scored 134 for five at close.
Ankit played a responsible innings of 48 not out and S Pathan scored a quickfire 39. For Punjab, Sandeep Sharma and Pankaj Choudhary took two wickets each, conceding 23 and 25 respectively.
Punjab won the match by an innings and will now meet Karnataka in the semi-final billed for December 11, 12 and 13 at Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium here.
