PM unveils Maran statue in Parliament

New Delhi, Dec 8 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today unveiled a statue of late Commerce and Industry Minister Murasoli Maran in Parliament House.

Among those who attended the function were Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

The others who were present included Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, BJP leader L K Advani and several Union Ministers, particularly those from Tamil Nadu, and CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta.

The leaders offered floral tributes at the nine-foot statue.
