Nicholas Burns calls on Defence Secretary

New Delhi, Dec 8 (UNI) US Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns and Defence Secretary Shekhar Dutt today assessed the significant progress made in the defence relations between India and the US in the recent years.

Mr Burns called on the Defence Secretary and noted that there was a need to further intensify exchanges to fully realise the vast potential that existed in this sphere.

They also noted the recent positive developments which included annual bilateral excercises and other exchange between the militaries and procurement of US equipments.

Both sides reaffirmed their continuing interest in building a long term parternship in the defence sphere.
