MPHC notice to CBI on plea against minister
Jabalpur, Dec 8 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today issued a notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation on a public interest litigation urging a high-level inquiry against a state minister allegedly having assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Chief Justice Anang Kumar Pattnaik and Justice Ravi Shankar Jha heard the plea by Harda-resident Anil Bansal and then also issued a notice to Revenue Minister Kamal Patel who has to respond within six weeks.
''After being elected an MLA from Harda, Mr Patel amassed property worth about Rs 10 crore for his family,'' Petitioner's Counsel Manikant Sharma submitted and also presented copies of documents relating to immovable property worth Rs 1 crore.
The petition said that the minister's son had a large plot, in the agricultural produce market premises, allotted to himself for a fuel pump though the son is not even a mandi member.
