Mercury drops in Raj, north-western parts in the grip of cold

Jaipur, Dec 8 (UNI) The western and nothern parts of the state are in the grip of a cold wave with the cold wind adding to the agony of the people.

The other areas of the state also recorded a drop in temperature by 2-3 degree celsius compared to the other day.

Due to cold wind and over clouded sky the temperature in the capital recorded 11 degree celsius, a drop of 2.5 degree celsius compared to yesterday.

The north western part of the state like Barmer, Bikaner, Ganganagar and Churu were the coldest places with mercury dropping to 5 degree celsius. Mount Abu recorded a minimum of 7, Ajmer 11, Udaipur 12 and Kota 17.

According to weatherman, the temperature was likely to drop further in the state in the next 24 hours.
