Man arrested for forging Minister's signatures
New Delhi, Dec 8 (UNI) Police have arrested a man for allegedly forging the signature of Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken for securing jobs for unemployed youth in power distribution company NDPL.
Sujeet Kumar Jha alias Loha Singh was arrested on December 5 by the Crime Branch in a case of fraud and cheating.
The Minister's personal assistant Sreedharan T V had filed a complaint that a letterhead bearing the forged signature of Mr Maken had been used for seeking an job in NDPL for one Mr Mukesh Kumar.
The accused had worked as an office assistant for the past 10 years with several MPs and political leaders.
Sujeet had promised a job in NDPL to Mr Kumar for which he had to pay him Rs 50,000. He had arranged the letter in connivance with a local leader, Ranjeet Kumar, who claimed to have access to the Minister. Ranjit Kumar is absconding.
Further investigations are in progress.
