"Joint Family" of Delhi bags Hornbill Rock title

Kohima, Dec 8: The week-long Hornbill National Rock Contest endedlast night with Delhi-based rock band ''Joint Family'' winning the''Best Rocker'' award.

The ''Joint Family'' won a prize money of Rs four lakh while thesecond prize went to ''Divine Connection'' of Nagaland, who received Rs1.5 lakh. The third winner was ''Boomerang'' from Mizoram ans won acash prize of Rs one lakh.

The prizes were selected from nine finalists, which included''Faith'' from Asom, ''The Hobos'' from Kolkata, ''Eximious'', ''BlackRose'', ''Daughty Growthy'' and ''Syndicate'' from Nagaland.

Hornbill National Contest prizes in other segments were for ''Best Guitarist'' which was won by Cypress of Nagaland.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio gave the awards to the winners.
