Inquiry into mazdoor jobs begins

Puducherry, Dec 8 (UNI) The Vigilance and Anti-corruption wing of the police began an inquiry into the alleged securing of job as mazdoors in the Puducherry municipality by paying money.

Puducherry municipal chairperson Dr Sreedevi, in a complaint to the Chief Secretary today stated that all the 22 persons, who were working as mazdoors in municipality might have secured the job by paying money. Therefore, an inquiry was needed in this regard.

Based on the complaint, the chief secretary directed the vigilance and anti-corruption wing of the police to conduct an inquiry.

SP Vigilance and Anti-corruption Mr George sumoned all the 22 persons for conducting inquiry today.

Dr Sreedevi had also alleged irregularities in the provision of birth and death certificates and an inquiry in this regard would be conducted tomorrow, police sources said.
