Indian duo beaten in beach volleyball

Doha, Dec 8 (UNI) The Indian duo of Mohan Poothathan and Pradeep John suffered a straight set defeat against the Japanese pair of Kentaro Asahi and Katsuhiro Shiratori in men's beach volleyball competition of the 15th Asian Games here today.

The Indians could not pose any serious threat to their Japanese opponents and conceded the first set 13-21 in 18 minutes.

The second set followed the same script with the Japanese maintaining a strong grip over the proceedings and wrapping up the set 21-12 in 19 minutes to complete the rout.
