Hyderabad score 312 against UP

Chandigarh, Dec 8 (UNI) An 82-run partnership for the eighth wicket between Samiullah (59) and MP Arjun (44) enabled Hyderabad to score 312 runs in their first innings against Uttar Pradesh in the semi- final of All-India knockout (U-22) Cricket Tournament being played at JR Institute of Cricket Technology in Barwala (Panchkula) here today.

Resuming at the over night score of 204 for six, Hyderabad lost their skipper P S Niranjan after the later has added just four runs to his total of 71 off 198 deliveries. Thereafter Samiullah and MP Arjun played gutsy knocks adding 82 runs for the eighth wicket stand.

The Hyderabad innings terminated at 312 runs. Medium pacer KK Upadhay (3 for 89) , Ali Murtza ( 3 for 42) and Avinash (3 for 89) shared the wickets.

Uttar Pradesh lost Saurav Singh (13) with scoreboard reading 14.

Next batsman Tahir Abbas too was caught behind the wickets off lanky medium pacer MP Arjun (2 for 49). Thereafter left handed Ali Murtza scored 44 runs of 81 deliveries. At stumps Uttar Pradesh were 84 for 2.
