Govt warns of action under NSA, 38 held

Chennai, Dec 8 (UNI) The government today warned of stringent action under the National Security Act against those indulging in violence causing damage to places of worship, burning photographs and assaulting persons as a sequel to the damage caused to Periyar's statue in Srirangam.

An official press release here said ten cases had been registered so far under various sections of the law in different parts of the state and 38 miscreants arrested and remanded.
