Five killed in ULFA blast in Asom
Guwahati, Dec 8 (UNI) At least five people, including four policemen, were killed today when ULFA exploded a powerful landmine near Tengkahat in Tinsukia district.
The police team was returning from a cash escort duty from a tea garden as the money was transported for payment to labours.
As the vehicle came atop the landmine, it was blasted by remote control, killing all four policemen, including the driver on the spot.
The deceased included one Assistant Sub-Inspector of police.
The area had been constantly witnessing violence for the past three months.
Meanwhile, another powerful bomb went off in the Gauripur town in lower Assam early morning today creating a big crater on the main road.
However, there was no casualty in this incident.
