District administration sets Jan 26 as deadline

Vijayawada, Dec 8: The Krishna district administration has setJanuary 26, 2007 as deadline for cent per cent enrollment of childrenin the schools.

The administration, which achieved 100 per cent enrollment ofchildren in 17 mandals in the district so far, was keen to bring backthe remaining dropouts to the schools, official sources told UNI heretoday.

The sources said the administration had sanctioned severalResidential Bridge Courses (RBC) under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan andNational Child Labour Project (NCLP) to ensure free and compulsoryeducation for the children below 14 years.

District Collector Navin Mittal had ordered the Mandal EducationOfficers to ensure that no child was engaged in labour either indomestic or agriculture sector.
