CPI demands white paper over Jharkhand's financial status
Ranchi, Dec 8 (UNI) The Communist Party of India has demanded a 'white paper' on the financial status of Jharkhand from the Madhu Koda led UPA government.
Party's state secretary and MP from Hazaribagh Bhuvneshwar Prasad told to reporters here the government should conduct an inquiry and find out the reason behind financial irregularities.
Mr Mehta said in 2001 the state had a surplus budget but now the government is facing financial problems.
Accusing the state government of following the footsteps of its predecessor BJP-led NDA, he said the Madhu Koda government was being run by 'corrupt officials' and tribals were living in a pathetic condition.
Mr Mehta said despite having a tribal Chief Minister they were not being benefitted by government schemes, adding foodgrains of various social security schemes were not reaching them.
Mr Mehta alleged that ministers of the state government were involved in scuffles and were pushing the state towards a midterm poll.
To a query, he said Jharkhand Mukti Morcha supremo Sibu Soren was being targetted due to political rivalry.
