AP Govt to upgrade facilities at Nilofer

Hyderabad, Dec 8 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to increase the number of beds at Nilofer Hospital from 350 to 500 and upgrade the facilities.

The government would identify the requirements for additional equipment and arrange them by utlising the funds of National Rural Helath Mission's Reproductive and Child Health Project-2 and state budget.

Reviewing the progress in the implementation of proposals for the improvement of facilities at the hospital, Health Minister K Rosaiah directed the officials to identify a location for additional block for maternity and neonatal intensive care unit and establish a CT scan facility through third party outsourcing in 15 days.

The Minister said the Department of Medical Education (DME) would send aproposal to the government to recruit the teaching staff on permanent basis at the hospital, an official release here today said.
