Adequate supply of LPG in Shimla district, says DC
Shimla, Dec 8 (UNI) Asserting that Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh had adequate supply of LPG cylinders, Shimla Deputy Commissioner Tarun Kapoor today said the district administration had already initiated steps to maintain supply in view of the winter season ahead.
An additional supply of LPG cylinders had already been sent to the state government employees and locals residing in the far-flung areas of the district, he said while presiding over the district joint advisory committee here.
Mr Kapoor said a reserve quota of cylinders was being sent to these areas to prevent any inconvenience to the people living in the hard areas of the district.
The district food and civil corporation have also been asked to ensure that the domestic gas cylinders were not misused and maintain adequate supply of cylinders, he said.
He said the district administration had taken effective steps to strengthen consumer movement in the district by ensuring that all shopkeepers displayed their rate lists prominently, he said.
Keeping in view the problem of parking of vehicles in the town, the administration had also earmarked six places besides four other places, he said.
The Shimla DC also directed the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) officials to ensure regular plying of their and private buses to Dhammi, Shogi and Ghanati areas after 2030 hrs.
Taking a serious view of the rising incidents of robberies in the state capital, he directed the police officials to increase police patrolling in vulnerable areas.
