'Abolish common entrance examination in Pondy'
Puducherry, Dec 8: Puducherry DMK Convenor and former ChiefMinister R V Janakiraman today urged the administration to abolishcommon entrance examination conducted for admission to professionalcourses in the Union Territory on the lines of Tamil Nadu.
In a statement here today, Mr Janakiraman pointed out thatPuducherry did not have it's own Board of Education and was followingTamil Nadu in almost all aspects.
In such a situation the entrance examination, which gives stressand strain to the students and parents was not necessary and thegovernment should abolish it, he said.
He also urged the administration to re-examine the syllabus to make it more easier for the students.
