Statues of MGR, Bhupesh Gupta unveiled in Par

New Delhi, Dec 7: Statues of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK founder M G Ramachandran and late CPI leader Bhupesh Gupta were unveiled in Parliament House today.

Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee unveiled the statues at a brief function which was attended by Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Union Ministers, AIADMK Chief J Jayalalithaa and her party MPs and other dignitaries.

Among the Union Ministers present were Mr Pranab Mukherjee (External Affairs), Mr P Chidambaram (Finance) and Mr Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi (Parliamentary Affairs).

The others who attended the function included Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Charnjit Singh Atwal, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan, MDMK Chief Vaiko and his party MPs, CPI leaders Gurudas Dasgupta and D Raja and TDP leader Yerran Naidu.

The leaders offered floral tribues to the statues.

The statue of late Commerce and Industry Minister and DMK leader Murasoli Maran will be unveiled in Parliament House tomorrow.

The AIADMK and the CPI donated the statues of their respective leaders.
