Young woman gives birth to sextuplets

Junagadh, Dec 5 (UNI) In a rare and interesting case, a 22-year-old woman gave birth to sextuplets in neighbouring Veraval district of Gujarat.

Ms Shantaben Subhashbhai Zala, a resident of Vadodar Zilla was admitted to a private hospital in Veraval where she delivered three sets of twins in her first Caesarean section around 1845 hrs last evening. Two of the baby boys, however, died immediately after birth, hospital sources said.

The condition of the mother and her four sons, who weigh around 1.5 kg each, is stable, hospital sources added.

The woman's husband, Subhashbhai, is a farmer in the village.
