Ultras kidnap 'Kolkata-based industrialist in Asom

Silchar, Dec 5 (UNI) A Kolkata-based industrialist was kidnapped from his Karimganj residence in Asom by suspected Ultras last night, police said today.

Chanchal Modok (48), the proprietor of Gamaria Rubber garden, about 55 km from here, was abducted by five gunmen, who posed as visitors. They pushed him in a car and sped away, police added.

Soon after the incident, police from both Karimganaj and Hailakandi districts launched an operation in the adjoining area to trace him.

The industrialist, hailing from Salt Lake locality of Kolkata, is known as pioneer of rubber plantation in this part of Asom.
