Tribal's paticipation neccessary to uplift themselves: Razi

Ranchi, Dec 5 (UNI) Jharkhand governor Sayed Sibte Razi today urged the NGOs to pressurise the government for implementing the various schemes for the uplift of tribals.

Mr Razi addressing at workshop organised here to create awareness among tribals about their rights said there had been several talks in the past for the benefit of tribals but all in vain. They still considered themselves as marginalised.

He also requested the NGO's to take certain initiatives in involving them in various government schemes.

Mr Razi said,'' Jharkhand is the only state where panchayat elections were not held so far despite active government machinery.''State Women Commission chairman Lakshmi Singh stressed the need to stengthen the 'Gram-Sabha' in every village and advocated to provide more rights to the tribal women.
