Chandigarh, Dec 5 (UNI) The District and Sessions court here today fixed December 21 as the next date of hearing in the Srinagar sex scandal case.

The defence counsel today moved an application in the court for re-shifting of the case to the CJM court of Srinagar for trial.

The defence counsel agrued that the case was shifted to Chandigarh district court at a time when the arguments were being heard at the Srinagar court. Due to bycott by the Bar Association, which refused to fight their case, they were unable to present their side properly and under Section 205-D of Jammu and Kashmir Act, they should now be allowed to pursue the case in Srinagar court, the defence counsel stressed.

Meanwhile, the prosecution today submitted before the court of District and Sessions Judge B S Mehndiratta that the prime witness, a minor girl, was being intimidated and should be provided with proper security when she appears in the court.

The court agreed the witness must be protected and directed the CBI counsel to take up the matter with the Union Home Ministry.

Out of the 14 high profile accused, 10 have been granted bail in the case.
