SA U-17 cricketers to play 25 matches in India
Chandigarh, Dec 5 (UNI) A 25-member under-17 cricket team of Alberton Cricket and Hockey Club from Johannesburg (South Africa)) will begin their tour of India with a match at Chaman Vatika School in Ambala on December 7.
Announcing this here today, chief convener of the SA tour of India, Ranjit Bajaj said that the visitors would play 25 matches during their 40-day tour of India.
The South African team here on the invitation of DAV College Centre of Cricketing Excellence Managing Director Ranji Bajaj will play against 10 state associations and 15 other teams.
The DAVCCCE is responsible for the Northern Indian matches and I D Kamboj has been appointed convener for these matches.
December 8: SA U-17 vs DAVCCCE at DAV College, Sector 10 Chandigarh.
December 9: SA vs St John's at St John's School-26.
December 10: SA vs Chandigarh Twenty20 Cricket Association and Haryana Twenty20 Cricket Association at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3 in Panchkula.
December 11: SA vs Haryana Cricket Association at JR Institute of Cricket Technology at Barwala.
December 12: SA vs Punjab at Burlton Park, Jalandhar.
December 13 (Day/Night): SA vs Bharat Box, Ludhiana in Ludhiana.
December 15: SA vs Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association at Dharamshala.
December 17: SA vs Haryana Cricket Association at Barwala.
December 18: SA vs Chandigarh Cricket Association in Chandigarh.
The visitors will also play in Delhi, Agra, Gwalior, Kolkata, Siliguri, Mumbai. They will leave for their country on January 9 next year.
Ranjit Bajaj said the SA team was visiting India under the ICC Development Programme and the South African Cricket Board. The team has already arrived in Mumbai.
Northern India convener I K Kamboj was also present on the occasion.
