Rains, snowfall dip mercury, Jammu-Srinagar highway closed
Jammu, Dec 5 (UNI) The Jammu-Srinagar National highway remained closed due to intermittent rainfall and fresh snowfall in various areas of Jammu and Kashmir as the cold wave continued to sweep across the region.
Due to heavy rains, the 300-km-long highway was closed for vehicular movement yesterday.
''The highway has been blocked on some places in Ramban area,'' Mr M H Badroo, DSP National Highway, told UNI.
It was closed yesterday and could not be made operational due to continoual rains, he added.
''Work is on at Ramban Seri, Kela Morh, Danthal and 174 Nachlana. But much depends on weather conditions'' Mr Badroo said.
