R and M opens office in India
Bangalore, Dec 5 (UNI) Reichle and De-Massari (R and M), the Swiss structured cabling specialist, today announced its plan to open an office in India to strengthen its position in the country's growing data and communications network solutions market.
Briefing newspersons here about the company's initiative, company Managing Director for India, Middle East and Africa, Laurent Amestoy, said the decision comes in the wake of India becoming the fastest growing IT market in the region.
''We felt it's necessary to be physically present in India, as this will enable us to engage more closely with existing and potential customers,'' he said.
R and M, with a current turnover of 190 Swiss Francs (160 million US Dollars), had a strong track record in the Indian market, particularly in the IT/ITES and finance sector. Its users in the country included Bosch, IBM, Freescale, Regus, Spacematrix, ABN AMRO Bank, Tech Mahindra, Hyderabad and Bangalore international airports.
Mr Amestoy said the advantage with R and M products was that it supplied the same quality of product, both in copper and optic fibre cables, to the worldwide market, whether it was the US, Europe or Asia Pacific. It had its R and D and manufacturing facility in Switzerland and some of its products were also being produced in Poland.
''We are looking at system integrators as partners. We will launch Qualified Partner Programme (QPP) before signing up with them. Our sales in India is growing at 20 per cent, the highest amongst all of our businesses worldwide. We are gaining in market share in new areas, with our 3,000 products in structured cables,'' he added.
