POGO unveils latest range of merchandise

Mumbai, Dec 5 (UNI) Cartoon Network Enterprises, the global licensing and merchandising division of Cartoon Network, today announced the strategic roll-out of its second phase of POGO merchandise with the launch of POGO apparel activity, kits, publishing stationary, electronics, school bags and more.

This announcement cames following the outstanding success of Cartoon Network Enterprises that launched consumer products like the Powerpuff girls, Johnny Bravo, Galli Galli Sim Sim, POGO wheels, etc.

Announcing the launch of new POGO merchandise, Cartoon Network Enterprises, Indian and South Asia director Jiggy George said ''This year has been fabulous for us. Over the last quarter, we have announced two strategic initiatives in the consumer goods division, and it makes me proud to close the year with the announcement of the extension of POGO merchandise across these exciting categories.'' ''The division has recorded a fantastic double digit growth registering an annual jump of 50 percent in business, and I am looking forward to witness success in 2007 with the launch of many such exciting announcements'', Mr George said.

In keeping with the channel's brand values of being alive, playful creative and energetic the vibrant new range of POGO apparel was unveiled by 12 kids walking the ramp.

Another highlight of the afternoon was a special appearance and act by the very talented Rob the popular host of MAD (music art and dance) a top rating and award winning original production from POGO.

The POGO apparel range launched by Karmatex would be available in three ranges Surf, Word Trials and Party Wear for boys and girls aged three to 12 years. This range will be available in spring and summer 2007 at all Karmatex stores called ''Scram'' as well as other leading lifestyle stores. The exquisite range will be priced between Rs 399 to Rs 995.

The new POGO merchandise range will further enhance the product category of the hugely popular show MAD. This new range would include the latest MAD home entertainment, DVD's six new MAD book titles , MAD stationary and MAD do-it-yourself activity kit giving kids a chance to take home the experience of their favourite show.

The MAD range of products will be priced between Rs 25 to Rs 525.

Cartoon Network Enterprises will also strengthen its retail presence with over 1,000 products currently available in over 15 categories such as apparel, plush, home ware, home decor, party products and stationery across 3,000 plus counters in over 25 cities.

The New Year will bring in a lot more action across branded POGO merchandise as categories such as innerwear, sleepwear, gifts and novelties, bags and activity games, amongst others will be added to the existing POGO portfolio.
