Night curfew extended in Mulky town

Mangalore, Dec 5 (UNI) Night curfew was extended till 0700 hrs tomorrow, while day curfew was relaxed today in Mulky town, where two persons were killed in police firing on December one following violence during the funeral procession of a local BJP leader, murdered by some unidentified persons.

Deputy Commissioner Maheshwar Rao told newspersons here that prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC, however, would continue in the entire Dakshina Kannada district till midnight of December seven. The decision to extend curfew would be taken tomorrow after reviewing the situation. The situation was now normal and peaceful, he added.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa were expected in the city tomorrow evening to review the situation.
