LS Congratulates Humpy for Gold at Asiad

New Delhi, Dec 5 (UNI) The Lok Sabha today congratulated Chess Grand Master Koneru Humpy on winning the country's first gold medal in the ongoing Asian Games at Doha, Qatar.

''Her golden triumph in the women's rapid format chess event has brought laurels to the country,'' Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee said in the House before start of the day's proceedings.

He then asked the members to join him in congratulating this sportswoman on her accomplishment.
