Judges in Bangladesh boycott courts
Dhaka, Dec 5 (UNI) In an unprecedented move, Judges of the High Court and Appellate divisions of the Bangladesh Supreme Court boycotted the courts today following misbehaviour by the lawyers loyal to former Opposition leader Sheikh Hasina's Awami League(AL).
The action by the Supreme Court Judges was in protest against the vandalism that took place on Thursday by Pro-Sheikh Hasina lawyers, who ransacked the office of Chief Justice Syed JR Mudassir Husain.
The AL loyalists were protesting against his order suspending the proceedings on a writ filed by opposition leaders challenging President Iajuddin Ahmed's take over as Chief Advisor of the interim caretaker government.
