Joshi objects to UNAIDS map of India on Arunachal and JK
New Delhi, Dec 5 (UNI) Senior BJP MP Murli Manohar Joshi today demanded the government in the Rajya Sabha to probe into the functioning of UNAIDS which was seeking to show the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir as outside the Indian map and projecting the country in bad light by inflating deaths due to AIDS.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the House, Dr Joshi said the UN health agency working in India was not only showing almost all parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir as outside Indian territory or disputed areas in its website. It had also 'inflated' the death figures ranging from 1.6 lakhs to 5.6 lakhs projecting the health conditions of Indians in bad light thereby jeopardising national security.
This organisation's function should not only be stopped, the agency should also make amends on its Indian map. There should be a probe into its working, he added.
