JMM activists block road: burn CBI's effigy

Jamshedpur, Dec 5 (UNI) Hundreds of JMM activists came out on the roads in party strongholds like Karandih and Mango areas soon after receiving the news of life impriosonment of party supremo Shibu Soren.

The activists led by JMM leader Bahadur Kisku staged a road blockade at Karandih. They shouted slogans against the judegment and also chanted slogans ''Shibu Soren Zindabad''.

The acitivists burnt effigy of CBI in protest and closed the shops and markets in the area.

JMM supporters, led by central committee secretary Babbar Khan also took out a protest rally in Mango area and burnt tyres against the verdict of the court.

Mr Khan said Soren, popularly known as Guruji, was convicted under a conspiracy and the party would move the higher court soon.

Soren and four others were sentenced to life imprisonment by the CBI court today in connection with the murder of the former's secretary Shashinath Jha in 1994.
