JD(U), SP candidates seek repoll in 124 polling booths

Mysore, Dec 5 (UNI) Alleging large scale rigging in the Chamundeswari Assembly byelection yesterday, two candidates today demanded repolling in 124 polling booths, where 80 per cent of the voters had exercised their franchise.

In a meeting of the bypoll candidates called by the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer S Selvakumar, Janata Dal (United) candidate A S Guruswamy and Samajwadi Party candidate B Karunakaran filed their objections and sought repoll.

Election Observer J Raymond Peter and Additional Observer Anand Singh also attended the meeting.
