Japanese Delegation called on Andhra Pradesh CM
Hyderabad, Dec 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said there was vast scope for food processing industries in the state and invited Japanese Industrialists to invest in food processing industries, Pharmaceuticals, IT and Bio-technology.
The Chief Minister told a Japanese delegation which called on him today that Andhra Pradesh was basically an agricultural state and 67 per cent of the people depended on it.
Hence the state government made massive investments in irrigation projects. India has to learn a lot from Japan which had made giant strides in technology, he added.
The delegation congratulated the for the vast improvement made in the state in various sectors.
The delegation also invited the Chief Minister to visit Japan.
Dr Reddy accepted the invitation and said he would work it out.
The 11-member delegation included chairman of Japan-India Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee of the International Friendship Exchange Council(FEC) Hiromichi Fujita and Special Assistant to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Chusei Yamada.
