Illicit operators denting revenue
Rajamundry, Dec 5 (UNI) Illicit operations are denting the revenue of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), particularly at Yeleswaram, Gokavaram and Rajole depots in the region, Regional Manager N Vivekananda said today.
Mr Vivekananda told UNI that 4000 to 5000 autos were plying in these three deposts cutting into the revenue of APSRTC.
If this is controlled with the system of carrying limited number of persons, the APSRTC would earn another Rs five lakhs from these deposts, he added.
He said various methods were being adopted to reduce the loss and there would not be closure of any depots in the region. The region earned Rs 4.38 crore profit by the end of October by reducing expenditure per km and productivity and agressive marketing in the long distance routes, he said.
