Home Secy satisfied with internal security scenario

Jalandhar, Dec 5 (UNI) Union Home Secretary V K Duggal today expressed satisfaction over improvment in situation of general internal security in insurgency-hit Jammu and Kashmir and North Eastern states and overall profile of Naxalite violence.

Talking to reporters here today, Mr Duggal said that the general internal security and law and order situation had been steadily getting better in Jammu and Kashmir and North Eastern states, since 2003.

He said that Naxalite violance had certainly posed problems in the initial months of the year in the tribal states Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand but now the situation on this front had also been controlled.

''The overall profile was satisfactory and there is no reason for undue worry,'' Mr Duggal said.
