EC rejects candidates' demand for repolling
Mysore, Dec 5 (UNI) The Election Commission today rejected the demand of two candidates for repolling in 124 booths in Chamundeswari Assembly constituency where 80 per cent of the voters exercised their franchise yesterday.
In a meeting of the bypoll candidates called by Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer S Selvakumar, Janata Dal (United) candidate A S Guruswamy and Samajwadi Party candidate B Karunakaran filed their objections and sought repoll alleging large scale rigging.

He said that as everything was found to be in order, it was decided to go ahead with the counting of votes on December 7.
The election would decide the electoral fate of former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah (Congress), Mr Shivabasappa (JD-S), Mr Guruswamy, B Karunakaran and ten independents.
