DK charges Congress with supporting communal forces

Puducherry, Dec 5 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the Dravidar Kazhagam (DK) today alleged that the Congress-led government in the Union Territory was supporting communal forces.

Addressing a press conference here, DK President V S Sambandam, recalling an incident, alleged that during the 74th birthday celebration of DK leader Mr Veeramani on December three at Villianur, near here a group of persons affiliated to some communal organisation forced their way into the venue and attempted to assault them.

The police instead of preventing the group, asked the Kazhagam to stop their function, he said and alleged that the incident showed the backdoor support extended by the government to the communal forces.

The matter would be brought to the notice of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Mr Sambandam said.
