Delhi stands strong with 291
Visakhapatnam, Dec 5 (UNI) Delhi gained upper hand against Andhra Pradesh by scoring 291 in 79 overs and then reducing the hosts for two for 18 in 8 overs at the end of day one of All India Vijay Merchant Trophy under 17 elite 'A' group matches here today.
Delhi's top scorer V Sood's 87 and Shobit Khausik's 22 added the sixth wicket partnership to 55 runs. Later 51 runs by Anurag Tyagi and 41 runs by S Sherawat had taken the nineth wicket partnership to 67 runs.
In another match, Punjab were all out for 233 against Baroda despite a fighting knock of 70 by Himanshu Chawla.
In reply Baroda ended the day at six for no loss in four overs.
