Blast shakes Afghan southern city, cause unclear
Kandahar (Afghanistan), Dec 5: An explosion rocked Afghanistan's southern city of Kandahar today, but it was not clear what caused it and wether there were any casualties, witnesses said.
Afghan and foreign troops are often targetted by roadside bombs and suicide attacks by Taliban militants in Kandahar.
On Sunday, at least eight Afghan civilians were killed in a suicide raid on NATO troops and subsequent firing by the soldiers in the city.
Kandahar is a stronghold of the resurgent Taliban insurgency.
