BJP wraps up 61 municipal seats in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Dec 5 (UNI) The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today won 61 seats out of 90 seats in various civic body elections of the state, displaying strong strength.

The BJP displayed the best result by winning all 21 seats in the Kanpur-Kansad Municipality in Surat district, BJP sources said here.

While in the recently flood-affected Vapi municipality, where BJP had just won eight seats in last election, bagged 27 seats, sources added.
