Bandit slain in encounter

Bhopal, Dec 5 (UNI) A dacoit carrying a reward of Rs 15,000 was neutralised by city police in Berasia Police Station limits.

''Following a tip-off that Parvat Singh Sapera was in the area, the personnel set up a cordon at about 1600 hrs and asked him to surrender. The bandit opened fire and was killed in retaliatory firing,'' said Superintendent of Police Anant Kumar Singh yesterday.

The criminal was accused in more than 25 cases of dacoity and other offences in Bhopal and Vidisha.
