Attrocities on women increasing in Tripura: DGP

Agartala, Dec 05: Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) and the opposition leader in the state Assembly have expressed concern over the growing incident of atrocities on the women.

DGP G M Srivastava said, '' We are deeply concerned on the increasing of crimes against women, mainly related to dowry.'' He also said people along with the police should come forward and cooperate to eradicate such social evils.

Congress oppostion leader Ratan lal Nath in a statement had alleged that the ruling CPI(M) government is responsible for the increasing crime against women.

Mr Nath also expressing his concern over increasing female foeticide, he also appealed to the government to take immediate steps regarding this.

Besides, steps should be taken to stop women trafficking and other related issues, he said.
