AIEMA awards certificates to CNE first batch
Chennai, Dec 5 (UNI) AIEMA Technology Centre (ATC), the business development wing of the Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers' Association (AIEMA), today gave away certificates to its first batch of CNC (Computerised Numerical Control Machines') trainees at a function held here.
Giving away the awards, Mr Satish Godbole, Business Head, Machine Tool Division, Siemens Ltd, said Siemens was ready to sponsor training in Germany or Bangalore for the trainers and the company was also committed to offer a subsidy of Rs 1,000 per CNC candidate of ATC for a two-year period.
He said the training was just a trigger to one's skills and they would face the challenge in the working place "where one's performance is gauged every day." He wished that the training programme produce at least 300-500 skilled people a year and advised the award winners to put sincere efforts for their growth thereby contributing to the development of their industries who invest on them.
During the four week duration course, the candidates were given direct training on CNC machine, CNC programming and simulation using 'KELLER' software, 100 hours of hands-on-training on the machine, coverage of latest trends in CNC lathes and industrial training/visit.
Guest of honour, Mr C L S Rosario, Past President, AIEMA and ATC, elaborated his association with Ambattur Industrial Estate since 1964, his participation then on in the formation of AIEMA and ATC, and his role during recession in the automobile industry during 1988-1989.
Mr M Elumalai, Chairman, ATC, welcomed the gathering. Mr K Pitchumani, President, AIEMA, Mr S Srinivasan, Vice President, AIEMA, Mr R Sridharan, Honorary General Secretary, AIEMA were among others who graced the function.
