13 ultras nabbed in Chhattisgarh
Kanker, Chhattisgarh, Dec 5 (UNI) Thirteen naxals, including seven women, were arrested near this district's Sargikot area today, Police said.
Following a tip-off by locals who said some rebels were laying landmines, the Koylibeda station house officer contacted the police superintendent and requisitoned an additional platoon. Three platoons cordoned off the spot. Four crude guns and landmine-laying equipment were seized.
Among those apprehended was Roop Singh who carried a reward of Rs 5,000 and stands accused of the assault on former education minister Vikram Usendi and a murder at Tewari village. The women had been involved in an encounter at Medon near Durgkondal.
