UP steps up security on Ayodhya demolition anniversary
Lucknow, Dec 4 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has beefed up security measures in the state, particularly Ayodhya, in the view of 14th anniversary of the demolition of the disputed structure on December 6.
State home secretary Arun Kumar Sinha said here all districts have been alerted to monitor law and order situation in their respective areas.
''Communal harmony should be maintained at any cost and a close watch kept on anti-social elements,'' the directive sent to the districts said.
Mr Sinha said intelligence agencies have been alerted, while additional forces deployed in the communal-senstive regions of the state.
Meanwhile, Muslim League today announced to observe December 6 as a 'black day' across the country and would hold dharna in front of the assembly permises on the day.
A news release said a League delegation would submit a memoradum to the President through the district authorities on the day, while people of the minority community would wear black badges and will keep their business houses closed.
