SUCI-sponsored 24-hour bandh to be a success: Ghosh

Kolkata, Dec 4 (UNI) Socialist Unity Centre of India(SUCI) state secretary Provas Ghosh today claimed that tomorrow's 24-hour statewide bandh in protest against the alleged police torture on the farmers at Singur would be a success.

The ruling Left Front government and their cadres were continuing torture on the farmers for acquisition of land for the Tata Motors' proposed small car unit there, he alleged.

Mr Ghosh also alleged that the party had unleashed an attack on the farmers and agricultural workers.

He also said a ''terrible'' situation was prevailing at Singur.
